Pre-Sales Consultant job description

Role Overview

As a Pre-Sales Consultant, you will be the trusted technical advisor and product expert who bridges the gap between our cutting-edge platform and the real-world cryptographic challenges faced by our prospects, customers, and strategic partners. You will work hand-in-hand with the sales team and our channel partners (MSSPs, system integrators, consulting firms, and technology alliances) to accelerate deal cycles, deliver high-impact demonstrations, run successful proofs-of-concept, and guide organizations on their post-quantum migration and compliance journey.

This is a high-visibility, customer-facing role that combines deep technical expertise in cryptography and cybersecurity with strong consultative sales skills. You will help partners position Venari Security as the essential platform for PQC readiness, risk reduction, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Sales Support
    • Deliver compelling product demonstrations, technical deep-dives, and customized workshops (virtual and in-person) that clearly articulate the value of Venari’s cryptographic discovery, analytics, risk scoring, and PQC migration capabilities.
    • Lead technical portions of the sales cycle: discovery calls, scoping workshops, RFP/RFI responses, and executive presentations.
  • Partner Enablement
    • Collaborate closely with channel partners to train their pre-sales, sales, and delivery teams on Venari Security’s platform, value proposition, and use cases.
    • Co-sell and co-deliver with partners on joint opportunities, including joint PoCs, webinars, and customer workshops.
    • Develop partner-specific collateral, playbooks, and success stories to help them drive revenue with Venari.
  • Customer Journey Guidance
    • Work with prospects and customers to map their current cryptographic inventory, assess quantum and classical risks, identify compliance gaps, and build actionable PQC migration roadmaps.
    • Support technical evaluations and proof-of-concept deployments, ensuring measurable outcomes and successful handoff to post-sales teams.
  • Product & Market Feedback
    • Act as the “voice of the customer and partner” by capturing market trends, feature requests, and competitive insights to influence product roadmap and strategy.
    • Stay current on PQC standards (NIST, CNSA 2.0, etc.), regulatory developments (e.g., EU Cybersecurity Act, Quantum Computing threats), and industry best practices.
  • Sales Acceleration
    • Contribute to pipeline development through technical win strategies, objection handling, and proposal support.
    • Travel occasionally (estimated 20-30%) for key customer and partner meetings, conferences, and workshops.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • 6+ years of pre-sales, solutions consulting, or technical account management experience in cybersecurity, cryptography, or enterprise software.
  • Strong English
  • Strong technical understanding of cryptography, including symmetric/asymmetric algorithms, PKI, TLS protocols and Post-Quantum Cryptography (NIST PQC algorithms such as ML-KEM, ML-DSA, SLH-DSA, etc.).
  • Proven experience explaining complex problems and risk concepts to both technical and business audiences (CISO, CTO, compliance officers, risk managers).
  • Demonstrated success working with channel partners or alliance ecosystems.
  • Excellent presentation, demonstration, and written communication skills (RFP responses, white papers, technical briefs).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

Preferred

  • Hands-on experience with cyber security assessment tools, code scanning, SBOM analysis, or quantum-risk assessment platforms.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks relevant to cryptography (FIPS 140-3, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, GDPR, DORA, etc.).
  • Experience selling or consulting on security platforms in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, government, critical infrastructure).
  • Prior experience in a startup or scale-up environment with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving market.
