LatchBio is hiring a Research Partnerships Lead in San Francisco, CA, US. On-site.

About LatchBio

LatchBio is a modular software platform for biological research that connects wet lab and dry lab work. It offers modules for interactive visualizations (Plots), scalable reproducible analysis environments (Pods), workflow orchestration including Nextflow-based workflows, experimental metadata capture (Registry), and centralized file storage. The platform can be deployed as a customizable, white-labeled analysis portal for solution providers, with usage-based pricing and enterprise-grade security. LatchBio also builds verifiable benchmarks to measure AI agents' performance on real-world biological data.

Research Partnerships Lead job description

As molecular data generation and frontier model intelligence grows, new approaches to biological intelligence are needed across the biotech industry.

Latch works with 5,000 scientists, 150+ R&D labs, and many frontier labs to help develop and deploy the next generation of biological AI Agents, from experiment to insight.

This is a super critical and exciting time for the company - we just hit 60 people and eight figures in revenue, and we're doubling every couple of months. We're compounding on massive product initiatives, and thoughtfully designing the LatchBio culture and partnerships processes!

About the Role

As a Partnerships Lead, you will form relationships with biologists and AI researchers who are interested in deploying intelligence across pharma, biotech, or academia.

Day to day you will own the full partnership: outreach, relationship building, scoping, sales, pilot, and customer success.

You'll work directly with the Co-Founder and CEO, Alfredo, who leads the partnerships team.

Your work will shape most conversations and direction at Latch.

Who You Are

This role is for someone that is technical, someone that can talk to scientists about their work. Someone that understands AI deeply. Ideally you've done AI research before, it doesn't have to be the modern kind of massive transformers but you can explain gradient descent and reinforcement learning, and have good intuition for what ideas are being used in the field.

Ideally you also know biology, again you don't need a PhD or even a formal background, but you should have either worked in this industry for a few years in a role where you had to interface with scientists.

You want to build relationships, not do transactional sales.

You want to grow to one day lead a team. But are okay rolling up your sleeves and doing the work.

What You'll Own

Typical areas of work:

  • Outreach and org mapping - understand the space by understanding the teams of people.

  • Relationship building - find how to be helpful to the people you want to partner with.

  • Partnership creation - each one is unique and needs to be designed around real needs.

  • Customer Success - we are obsessed with being our partners' best provider.

  • Head of Sales - you can lead yourself with high agency and one day lead a team.

You need to be high agency. There is not much mentorship at Latch, everyone just figures it out. If given a task you are expected to identify the blockers, figure out how to unblock yourself, and come back with significant progress.

Compensation & Logistics

  • High base, but the big money comes from commission

  • You'll work very closely with Alfredo, the CEO and Head of Sales, day to day.

  • Most people work 60+ hour weeks.

  • We work strictly in-person in Mission Bay, SF, Monday to Friday.

  • Hours are pretty flexible as long as you are here for meetings.

  • 100% premium covered Blue Shield platinum health plan.

  • Free meals (lunch and dinner).

  • Waterfront office in Mission Bay, San Francisco.
