About the role:
We are seeking a Senior Robotics Engineer specializing in Robotic Localization to participate in the development of cutting-edge localization systems for autonomous robotic platforms. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SLAM using both lidar and camera sensors, and a deep understanding of sensor fusion techniques. Proficiency in implementing and tuning filters such as Extended Kalman Filter (EKF), Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF), and Particle Filter is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement robust SLAM algorithms using lidar and camera sensors for accurate robotic localization.
- Design and optimize sensor fusion strategies to integrate data from multiple sensors for enhanced localization accuracy.
- Apply and tune various filtering techniques, including EKF, UKF, and Particle Filter, to improve system performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate localization systems with other robotic subsystems, ensuring overall system coherence and reliability.
- Conduct research and stay updated with advancements in robotic localization, SLAM, and sensor fusion technologies.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in SLAM, both lidar-based and camera-based.
- Expertise in sensor fusion techniques and multi-sensor integration.
- Proficient in filtering techniques like EKF, UKF, and Particle Filter.
- Strong background in robotics, computer vision, and machine learning.
- Familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System) and its application in localization tasks.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python and C++.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities, with a knack for cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience with 3D mapping and computer vision algorithms is a plus.
- Familiarity with hardware components relevant to robotic localization (e.g., IMUs, GPS).
- Masters or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science or a related field.
