Junior PHP software engineer at POCKEE

We’re looking for a Junior PHP Developer with 1–2 years of experience to join our team at Pockee. This is a unique opportunity to grow your backend development skills while learning how AI and especially Multimodal Large Language Models (MMLs) are transforming how we build smarter, faster applications.

What You’ll Do

As part of our engineering team, you will:

• Develop and maintain backend services using PHP and Laravel.

• Help build APIs that power both internal tools and customer-facing applications.

• Write clean, well-structured, and documented code with guidance from senior developers.

• Participate in code reviews and collaborative planning sessions.

• Support debugging, testing, and quality assurance efforts.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with:

• 1–2 years of professional experience in PHP development.

• Familiarity with Laravel or another modern MVC framework.

• Strong interest in AI and a desire to learn how to work with LLMs and MMLs.

• Curiosity about AI/MML technologies and a willingness to learn how they integrate with modern backend systems.

• Basic understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.

• Experience working with MySQL or other relational databases.

• Exposure to RESTful APIs — either building or consuming them.

• Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.

• A strong desire to learn and improve, with a proactive attitude.

Bonus Points

• Experience with Elasticsearch, Redis, or NoSQL databases.

• Exposure to tools like Docker or basic server management.

• Projects or portfolio demonstrating your backend development work.

• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
