About Nomos
Europe pays more than twice as much for electricity as the US or Asia. To reach competitive price levels, Europe has to lean on solar and deliver the flexibility that makes this feasible. Nomos is building a full-stack power company to unlock that flexibility by connecting millions of homes to Europe’s energy markets.

What you’ll do
Incentives in the German power system have been misaligned for too long, and correcting that starts with how electricity gets bought and how assets get steered. You’ll decide how Nomos does both and build the models that make the decision.
Build forecasting models that predict consumption and generation across tens of thousands of individual households.
Design and run our procurement strategy and price the risk of rare electricity price spikes.
Optimise the steering of thousands of assets against prices, forecasts, and physical limits.
Exciting challenges
Forecast a system that reacts to you. Steering a battery or heat pump changes the load you are forecasting. Your models need to account for the behaviour of individual households and the effects of our own decisions.
Price what almost never happens. A handful of hours can define much of the year’s downside, with little data to learn from. When liquidity is thin, the optimal trade and the executable trade stop being the same thing.
Who you are
You can defend your modelling choices. You’ve worked deeply on a quantitative problem in research or industry. You can explain the mathematics behind your approach, why you chose it over alternatives, and which assumptions would invalidate the result.
You’ve taken research into production. Your models have informed real decisions. You can explain how you evaluated them before deployment, what happened when they encountered real conditions, and what you changed as a result.
You question a good backtest. You check whether the information was available at the time of the decision and whether the strategy could actually have been executed. You examine the rare failures that an average can conceal.
