About Nomos
Nomos is building the full-stack power company that connects millions of homes to Europe’s energy markets. We exist to turn Europe’s energy crisis into a competitive advantage. Households have committed substantial capital to solar panels, batteries, heat pumps, and EVs. Much of that capacity still sits idle. We put it to work through the manufacturers and installers households already trust. By doing so, we reduce wholesale electricity prices and return value to the households that own these assets.
Today, Nomos is a regulated electricity supplier and balancing responsible party in Germany, running on software we built from the ground up. Every day, we supply and trade electricity for thousands of households.
About the team
You will join a company that obsesses over talent to an unusual degree. We hire for spikes, not for an absence of weaknesses. We look for exceptional ability backed by a record of achievement. This has brought IMO and IOI medallists, former founders, and Olympic athletes together. The aim is a team whose individual strengths reinforce one another.
Ideas stand on their merits. We question assumptions, take ownership, and care about the details of our work. We challenge each other’s thinking and ask for help when we need it. At this stage, we work in person in Berlin Mitte.
What you’ll do
We build software that connects the energy market to thousands of physical assets, and we own almost all of it ourselves. You’ll be directly responsible for building the product, on real projects rather than intern projects.
Own real engineering projects end to end, from working out the problem to shipping it.
Work on our own stack, with AI as part of how you build every day.
Work directly with commercial teams, because the hard problems here are not purely technical.
Exciting challenges
Own an entire challenge. Recent interns built forecasting functions around seasonality and temperature and owned the build-out of a data analytics pipeline and a liquidity risk monitoring system.
Work where the market meets the physical world. Market events have to reach thousands of devices correctly, and the rules change while the assets are already running. Nobody hands you a defined task.
