Who are we looking for?

Title: Commercial Excellence Manager/Commercial Director

Arrangement: Full-time

Location: Mumbai, India

Reporting to: Head of India

Role Overview

The Commercial Excellence Manager (or Commercial Director, for a more experienced candidate) is a broad, generalist role supporting reach52's commercial and business operations engine. The candidate works cross-functionally across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Group Operations, moving fluidly between analytics, strategy, and execution as business priorities shift. The role suits a strong generalist with a consulting, investment analysis, or startup operating background who can take ownership of ambiguous problems without needing a fixed brief.

Key Responsibilities

This is a broad, cross-functional role built for someone who can pick up any commercial or operational priority as it comes up, working closely across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Group Operations. Areas of focus are not limited to any fixed list, but typically include things like:

  • Support the Head of India and leadership team on key commercial initiatives, strategic projects, and business priorities
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives by coordinating with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and other teams
  • Drive business development and licensing, portfolio strategy, innovative partnerships, and other growth orientated tasks
  • Lead execution of key initiatives, action items, and business improvement plans
  • Partner closely with the Head of India and leadership team to drive commercial excellence initiatives and strategic business priorities
  • Analyse business performance and develop insights to support data-driven decision-making across functions
  • Develop and own MIS reports, dashboards, and performance scorecards for leadership
  • Track key commercial and sales performance metrics, identify trends, and recommend improvement opportunities
  • Lead business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reviews.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and ROI of commercial initiatives, sales programs, and marketing activities.
  • Drive cross-functional projects by collaborating with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, and Technology teams
  • Support the optimisation of commercial processes, systems, CRM, and reporting frameworks
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and business intelligence to support strategic decisions
  • Prepare presentations, business cases, and recommendations for senior leadership

The scope will evolve with business needs - the right candidate is someone who can move fluidly between analysis, execution, and leadership support, rather than staying within a fixed job description.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Ideally MBA from a reputed business school/ post-graduation preferred
  • 5-8 years of experience, ideally including strategy consulting or investments
  • Prior healthcare
or health-tech startup experience strongly preferred

  • Strong analytical and financial skills, with comfort operating across ambiguous, cross-functional problems
